Classic Layout Sympathy Card

Elegant paper adds beauty to this simple to make card. I am showing it as a sympathy card, but it could easily be a birthday, thinking of you or anniversary card! Give it a try with the paper and stamp sets you have on hand.

Classic layout 1 (left fold card): Cut 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock in half to create two 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" cardbases (Whisper White shown). Fold in half along the 8 1/2' side.

Classic Layout 2 top fold card: Cut 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock in half to create two 4 1/4" x 11" cardbases. Fold in half along the 11" side.

Cut a layer piece in Whisper White to be used to attach the paper pieces. This piece should be 4" wide x 5 1/4" tall for either layout.

Cut two pieces of pretty paper one piece is 4" x 3" and one piece is 4" x 2" (shown is Share What You Love Specialty Paper). The patterns shown are from the same sheet with opposite sides facing up to create complimentary look.

Option: Use the same side of paper up to create a cohesive look.

Adhere the paper pieces to the layer piece of Whisper White card stock using SNAIL adhesive.

Attach the 4" x 3" paper on the bottom of the layer piece (line up bottom and two sides).

Attach the 4" x 2" piece at the top of the layer piece (line up top and two sides)

This will leave a 1/4" gap between the two papers

Cover the gap with an accent piece of cardstock cut to 4" x 1/2" or as shown on card, add a piece of ribbon to cover the gap. Cut ribbon to approx. 4 1/2" long.

Use Glue Dots to adhere the ribbon to the back of the card and in one spot on the front of the card. I put the glue dot in one spot that typically will get covered later with the layered greeting accent.

Stamp the greeting inside the card using Tranquil Tide ink.

Using Stampin' Dimensionals attach the paper covered layer piece to the folded card front.

Stamp your greeting on Whisper White cardstock using Tranquil Tide ink. Greeting shown is "With Sympathy".

Punch the greeting out centered within the Pretty Label Punch.

Punch a greeting Accent piece out using the Everyday Label Punch.

Adhere the greeting to the Accent piece while lining up the rounded ends on both punched pieces.

Use Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the layered greeting accent towards the right side of the front of the card, but center the rounded ends on the ribbon.

Add two pearls in a line centered on the ribbon in the space remaining.
