Marelle's Rip and Flip Technique

Oh man! Once I spotted this technique I knew my Christmas card worries were over! I was woefully behind on the hundreds of cards I needed to have mailed by mid December until I visited one of my favorite blogger's website - Marelle Taylor. She was showing a Christmas version of her Rip and Flip Technique. She had apparently shown the technique on her blog earlier in an all-occasions version but I somehow missed it. I think it is one of those you are given what you need when you need it situations. Check out the easy directions.

Cardbase (Whisper White): 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Fold in half along 8 1/2" side to make a right opening card. You will need 3 pieces of 8 1/2" x 11" cut into six cardbases.

DSP: Cut a piece of 12" x12" paper into six 4" x 6" pieces.

Decide which side will be dominate (the top) and which side will be the accent (the bottom). Rip a cut-down piece of Designer Series Paper at about 2/3. Flip the bottom portion over to reveal the opposite pattern.

Adhere the larger piece to the top of the front of the cardbase.

Attach a piece of ribbon with glue dots across the top of the smaller piece of paper (which has the opposite pattern visiable).

Adhere the smaller piece of paper to the bottom of the cardbase by overlapping the existing paper.

Stamp a greeting onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Real Red ink.

Punch it out using the Extra Large Oval punch.

Punch a scrap piece of accent cardstock (Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, or Night of Navy) using the Decorative Label punch.

Layer the Extra Large Oval over the Decorative Label punched item.

Using dimensionals attach the layered punched items over the ribbon.
