Party Wishes

If you are like me, you often need a generic Birthday card. It shouldn't be too masculine, or too feminine. You need it to be okay to use for a child or an adult. That is why I like a One Sheet Wonder approach to card design. You start with one sheet of pretty paper or a background that you have stamped and you can turn out several cards in one sitting. This design is one of those all around perfect for so many people cards. I started with two sheets of 12x12 paper and six pieces of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock to make a dozen cards in one sitting. Unlike many OSW patterns this one makes 12 identical cards (except that paper is slightly different). I will give you the instructions for one card and they will all be the same.

Choose a card base color (showing Mint Macaron) and cut the 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock in half vertically making two 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock. Fold the card base in half to make a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" base with a top fold.

Choose two complimentary pieces of 12x12 paper (using It's My Party). Cut each of the pieces into six 4" x 6" pieces. Then you can cut each of the 4" x 6" pieces into (1) 4" x 3", (1) 4" x 2 1/4", and (1) 4" x 3/4" piece. You will need to cut a complimentary piece of 4" x 6" paper (not the same patterns) with the same cuts.

Adhere the 4" x 3" piece to the top of the card and use the opposite side of the 4" x 2 1/2" piece of paper for the bottom piece on the card. Adhere to create equal border all along card base.

Adhere the 4" x 3/4" piece of complimentary paper to cover the seam of the larger pieces.

Stamp the cake stamp in Crushed Curry on a piece of scrap white cardstock. You can stamp off first if you would like a lighter cake.

Using Melon Mambo ink stamp the make a wish greeting over the cake.

Using a Crushed Curry marker add color to the flame portion and a Melon Mambo marker to add color to the candle portion of the stamp.

Stamp the candles onto the top portion of the cake. Huff to re-moisten if needed.

Punch the cake out using a 2 1/2" circle punch.

Add dimensionals and attach to the card front as desired.

Continue to do the same instructions for the remaining pieces of 4" x 6" pieces of cardstock until you have completed 12 cards.
