Snuggly warm and filled with Love

Lb 3 cr

Wrap yourself in a cozy knitted throw and grab a cup of something warm. It is that time of the year when the nights get cool and bundling feels like the right thing to do. This card gets its bundling from the extra texture of the dynamic embossing and the layers of colors on both the main card and the greeting accent.

No Bones About It

I adore the Cookie Cutter bundle and the extra Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set! There are so many clever uses for this set and I am just starting to create with it. I provided this card at our September cardmaking party. I had to put a little of the sparkly Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper on there. I used my absolute favorite Halloween color combination, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, and Crushed Curry.

Collar Fold and Butterfly

The collar fold is such a fun way to show off two beautiful patterns on the same sheet of paper. I have seen so many cards with this layout, that I wanted to give it a try myself. I presented this card at a recent cardmaking party and everyone loved it. I selected the rest of the colors from the paper, so a bright yellow butterfly seemed like the perfect choice! Another fun detail is the gold sequins that seem to show the butterfly lifting off the page and the cute clip that we used to hold the sequins in place. I heard more than once, "I didn't see those in the catalog" or "I've seen them but didn't know how to use them on a project. Thanks for the idea." You're welcome! Can't wait to see what you come up with using the collar fold yourself!

Holiday Time already?

I am not quite ready for Christmas yet. I like to wait until November to think about it myself, but I know that when I make my own cards and crafts that I need to get an earlier start! One of the new product suites in the Holiday Catalog is this cute 3-D house called Sweet Home.

It can be used for a Gingerbread House or part of a Christmas Village, but it also makes a sweet Haunted House! So, maybe now is the perfect time for this bundle. I have included a cool video that Stampin' Up! shared with us before the catalog got released. I thought maybe you'd like to see it today!

Subtle Fall Paisley and Posies

Version b crop

This is one of the cards I offered at our recent stamping event. We have kicked off our Fall stamping and I wanted to jump in with a non-tradtional color scheme. I choose to have a beautiful Soft Sky base, with a dark Early Espresso accent piece and then popped some color with the Cherry Cobbler in the stamped background. I smiled a couple times when I got called over to the table and the ladies said they didn't get this piece of paper in their kit. Just goes to show you really can make your own paper that will be stunning and can be in any color combination! My tips for stamping your own background are 1. Start with the largest stamp first. Add four or five in various directions, making sure most are just at the edges. 2. Add the accent color pop next stamping one in each of the spaces between the larger stamped images. 3. Fill in the white spaces with the smallest stamp.

Grateful Butterfly

This is a copy of my own card design from June (see complete directions http://www.duchessofdesign.com/blogs/sweet-sugar-plum-and-peekaboo-peach-you-are-totally-awesome). I love these InColors together, they remind me of summer and have a cool, fruit salad feel. The colors are Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, and Pear Pizzazz. The punches used are Grateful Bunches and the larger butterfly for the focal points and the Decorative Label for the greeting. I colored the butterfly with markers so I could add and blend the two colors on it. The flowers are stamped in black ink on colored card stock. Pearl accents.

Timeless Texture CASE

When I get a great layout I like to use it often, so when my recent card was popular with my stamping group I copied myself using different colors and different washi tape. This new version has a little bit more feminine feel to it! It was equally as popular. The colors are taken from the Affectionally Yours paper and washi tape.

Timeless Birthday card

I was asked to prepare a project for my teammates to make at our recent team meeting. I was honored to be asked, but scared as well. I like my cards to be easy, but have a little bit of WOW. I knew I wanted to use washi tape. I just love how quick and easy it is to add some color and pattern to any project! I also knew I wanted to use my Timeless Texture stamp set. It is such a great set as a background for almost any project. I used the color palette from the washi tape to give me the colors for the Texture stamps. It is a standard cardbase in Sahara Sand with one layer 4" x 5 1/4" in Very Vanilla.
