On the high seas - Swirly Bird |
|
A hoy Matey! The Swirly Bird stamp set and Framelits are such versatile pieces. At my most recent local stamping event I used the set to make this masculine card with a sailing theme and also used it for a more feminine feeling card which I will share in the days ahead. There are many parts and pieces to the stamp set, so depending on how you put them together, you can make a sailboat or a bird or kites or flowers, swirls, and anything you can imagine. I expect this to be my "go to" set for along time to come!

Cardbase (Dapper Denim) 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half to create a left fold card.
Accent: 2"x4" piece of paper (Real Red), (2) strips 4"x1 1/4" (Whisper White cardstock & Pool Party paper) for waves, Crumb cake approx 2 3/4" x 4 1/4", Whisper White approx. 2 1/4" x 3 1/2".
Adhere the accent paper to the top left side of cardfront.
Punch Crumb Cake accent circle (2 1/2") or cut using Layer Circles framelits. Punch banner from remaining piece.
Run the cardstock and paper through the Big Shot with the wavy die. Make one white and one Pool Party.
Use a glue dot in an inconspicuous location or two to hold the white cardstock waves down. Then use glue to hold thin ends down. Layer Pool Party waves offset or reversed using the same technique to adhere.
Slip Crumb Cake circle under wave layers and adhere.
Stamp the sailboat on a scrap piece of white cardstock, Crumb Cake for boat, Real Red front sail, Pool Party back sail, Dapper Denim mast flag. Punch out using 2" circle punch. Offset for "sunset" affect and attach with Dimensionals.
Stamp outline banner with Real Red and stamp greeting with Dapper Demin. Punch with banner punch. Use dimensional to attach.
