Thanks for Everything everyday

Quick and easy thank you card idea using the painters tape technique

I can not begin to say Thank You enough! I think it is so important to send thank you cards and to say thank you when it is due. Honestly, can't you think of at least one person who deserves your thanks everyday? I can. My neighbor comes over and plows out my driveway anytime we get more than an inch or two of snow. He is the same guy who helped us get a dead skunk out of our basement. A simple card can't be enough for that kind of help, but it certainly is a start! Who needs to get a thank you card from you today?

Back to my project this week! This card is super easy to recreate yourself. I created the background using "Painter's Tape Technique". You "stamp" the stripes using painters tape that has been dipped in the ink pads.

Here are some tips for you:

  • You will need a piece of painters tape for each color. No cross contamination allowed.
  • Measure your piece to be longer than the cardstock you are stamping on to. I used a piece about 6" long so that I had enough for the 4" cardfront and had room for my fingers to not get them in the ink!
  • You can get the complete instructions here
  • I used the color combination from the Tasty Treats paper. Among the colors are: Peekaboo PeachWatermelon WonderPear Pizzazz, and Chocolate Chip. I don't know if I am drawn to these colors because they are so pretty or because they sound so yummy! I could have used Pool Party ink, but opted to use that color for my ribbon accent. I love all of the stitched ribbon! It is so pretty!

It is still Sale-a-bration time! Stampin' Up! just added three new rewards to the freebies you can get with your qualifying order! Guess what? If you purchase the items used on this card, you will qualify for one Sale-a-bration reward. It will be hard to choose which one! It might be easier, if you had copies of the catalogs to look through at home. Please drop me a line if you want to receive both the Occasions and the Sale-a-brations catalogs of your very own!

As always, I hope this project inspires you to create your own thank you cards. I'd love to see what colors you choose and which embellishments and stamp sets you use on your Painter's Tape technique card! Please post your creation to my Facebook page!
